Mr. Amir Mahamad
Founder & Executive Director of Youth Engagement
Mr. Amir Mahamad is a dynamic young philanthropist from North Nashville who has dedicated himself to creating positive change in his community. As one of the founders of Royal Table Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, he works tirelessly to create transformative opportunities for youth in underserved areas.
A graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Nashville, Amir developed a passion for academic excellence early in life. His own educational journey, which included consistent self-study even during summer breaks, gave him insight into the importance of academic resources and support. Upon returning to Nashville after college, he was motivated to address the educational disparities he observed in his community.
Amir currently hosts a mentorship program in North Nashville that welcomes young men from across Middle Tennessee. His approach emphasizes treating young people with dignity and humanity, recognizing that behind behavioral issues are often children who simply need time, attention, and resources. His work focuses on three core principles: academic excellence, personal growth, and community involvement.
The 2020 Nashville tornado was a pivotal moment in Amir's journey to community service. Seeing children affected by the disaster inspired him to become "a larger resource" for his community, leading to the expansion of Royal Table's initiatives. Today, Amir leads programs on leadership and resilience, helping young people develop the skills needed to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
